From what I understand, it's a challenge of honor between Firebenders. Zuko called it against that Commander dude in like, the second or third episode. And from what Blod told me, it's the fight Zuko and his dad were doing when he got his scar.

Uh, I think I posted that right after the pirate episode. Dude! The idiotic pirates followed the equally idiotic Zhao's orders and blew up Zuko's boat!
I just watched Avatar Day. That's by far the silliest episode that I've seen.
