Kiya nodded to Ash and settled down, resigning herself to the wait. "When you're finished, will you tell me what's been going on in the Fire Nation while I was missing? I miss home."

Watching Raiki, Bala wanted to comfort him at the mention of his family. He clearly missed them. She always dreamed of running away from home to explore the world, but his melancholy words made her realize that she would always miss them if she acted on that impulse. Before Bala could say anything to console him, Raiki had changed the subject. She watched, facinated, as he deftly sculpted a miniature penguin. The finished product glinted in the cold sunlight. Smiling softly, Bala reached out and gently took it, holding the statuette with the tip of her fingers. "This is beautiful. Thank you." Bala glanced up at Raiki, and again wondered why he still wore the mask. They walked a frew more paces before she finally asked, "I was just curious, and you don't have to answer if it's personal, but... Why do you still wear that mask?" Bala bit the inside of her cheek, hoping she had not just ruined Raiki's impression of her.

Ash nodded at Kiya. "I will be happy to do so." He told her before departing for his briefing.
*** Raiki was pleased that Bala took his sculpture. "I'm glad you like it. It should stay like that for awhile." He told her. Raiki's one eye blinked for a moment as he processed Bala's question. "Huh, I forgot that I was still wearing it. I usually wear it when I'm in the Water Tribes, seeing how its always cold." He took a finger and deftly removed the mask from his mouth, revealing his face; all except the headband that hid his unique eye. "I guess out of habit, I don't usually take it off." He shrugged.
