So, this is my first attempt at understanding the world of Avatar. Apologies for kinda stumbling around for now. I'll get it eventually.

Character's Attitude: Kiya is a sweet girl from the Fire Nation. She never wants to fight and always tries to resolve problems the instant she hears of them. She can be feisty, however, and is willing to fight for what is right, especially when it means saving another life.
Character's Race: human
Character's Appearance: Kiya has dark blonde hair that goes a bit past her shoulders. There is a black streak in her hair, her birth mark that sets her apart from everyone else. Her eyes are a bright blue, and she's fairly tall. She smiles almost too much.
Character's Allegiance: Fire Nation
Weapons: All her weapons were left at home. She has a bow and two Sais. Her father had a Fire Nation sword, which she will inherit whenever she finds her way home.
Character's Bending Ability: Intermediate Firebender
Other Info: She has a pet penguin named Jack.
History: Kiya was born in the Fire Nation to one of their greatest leaders. She was his pride and joy, and he made sure she had every convienice he had to offer. The one day some unknown attackers came to their house, killed her father, and kidnapped her. She tried to fight against them but was overcome. It was during this time that she discovered she was a Firebender. She tried to use it against her attackers, who had taken her to *the water tribes? Whatever they're called.* They werew prepared for this, however, and still have her. Her only comfort is a young penguin that she found and kept, that she named Jack.
Role-Play Sample:
Kiya sat huddled in a corner of the cave she had been taken to. It was cold and wet and she hated it. She was afraid to use fire in case the men might hurt her again. So she snuggled against her little penguin.
"It's okay, Jack," she whispered to him. "We'll get out of here, I promise you." She looked at the men who held her captive, thinking, wondering, and shivering.
Why is this happening to me? she wondered, remembering how they had brutally killed her father, Please...someone come save me!
Okay, what do I need to fix? I need to know about weapons, and does bending mean you can create the thing, or only manipulate it if it's there?
