Character's Attitude: Mai used to be easily bored and depressing when she was younger, due to her uptight upbringing. After she married Zuko and started having kids, she began to let her emotions show more. She still keeps to herself most of the time, but more often she lets Zuko know what's on her mind.

Weapons: A whole bunch of throwing knives, stillettos, and shuriken knives. She taught herself how to throw them out of pure boredom when she was a teenager.

Other Info: Married to Fire Lord Zuko; mother of Korin, Feru, and Misora; and one of the former close friends of Princess Azula.
History: Mai was born the daughter of a Fire Nation nobleman and his wife. For fifteen years, she was an only child. Her parents were strict and, though they let her have anything she wanted, she had to be quiet and polite. Most of her life, Mai was bored and a little depressed.
She enrolled in the Fire Nation Academy for girls when she was young. There she met Ty Lee and Princess Azula. They became friends, though Mai rarely actually played with them. She also developed a childhood crush on Prince Zuko.
Mai's father was made the governer of the Earth Kingdom city of Omashu after the Fire Nation invaded. Mai was seventeen at the time, and she had a two-year-old brother, Tom Tom. Soon after, Azula appeared with Ty Lee in tow and invited her to help hunt down her fugitive brother. Mai accepted without even hearing what they were doing, wanting something to escape from boredom.
They chased Zuko and Iroh, as well as Aang, Katara, and Sokka. When Zuko helped Azula "kill" the Avatar, he returned home a hero. Mai and Zuko started going out, though their relationship went through some stress from time to time, especially when they went to the beach on Ember Island.
Zuko left to join the Avatar and his friends, and left only a note for Mai explaining what he did and why. Mai was heart broken, but when it came down to it, she saved "the jerk who dumped her" and turned on Azula when she was going to attack Zuko. She and Ty Lee were thrown in prison until Mai's uncle released them.
At Zuko's corination as Fire Lord, Mai gave him a kiss and told him to never break up with here again. Not long after, they were married and had three children. Mai is most worried about her middle child, Feru. She sees a change in him that reminds her disturbingly of Azula. So she's keeping an eye on him and is making sure she spends him with him and that he takes time to play with his siblings.
