Kiya smiled as Korin reached out to touch her penguin. "Go ahead," she said, holding Jack out to him. She heard what Feru muttered and shook her head slightly, wondering how he could even say something like that. ~~~~~ Misora frowned and looked up and down the hall. Not seeing her brother, she called out, "Feru!!!!!!! FFFFEEEERRRRUUUUU!!!!!!!!" She started to pout, wanting to talk with him. Thinking, she walked out to the garden and pet a turtle duck. Finally, she saw Feru come into the garden. She jumped up and wrapped both her arms around one of his. "Feru, did you ever learn how to do that move that Great-Uncle Iroh taught Daddy once? About letting lightning pass through you?"

"Hello Misora." Feru's voice was bland as he was used to his sister's reaction whenever he was around. He tried to wiggle his arm out of her hands, but she seemed to hold on tighter. he sighed and gave up. "No. Father said it was too difficult, but I'm sure he taught Korin." He tried not to sneer. Of course, he had experimenting with the move himself based on Aunt Azula's observations when she last battled Zuko. "Why do you want to know?" He asked her, wondering what she was up to. "Oh, would you let Mother know that Kiya has accepted her invitation for dinner tonight?" He added, not wanting to talk to Mother at the moment, for she seemed to be prying into his activities lately, and he wondered if she suspected his meetings with Aunt Azula.

Misora shrugged and picked up a turtle duckling that wandered by her feet. "I just wondered if you knew how it worked. It sounds weird. How can you let lightning go through you without hurting you?" She frowned a little thinking about it. She smiled a little when Feru mentioned Kiya. "That's Korin's girlfriend, right?" she asked. She remembered how her brother blushed every time she was mentioned.

"Its who he wishes to be his girlfriend." Feru smirked. He glanced back at the wall and wondered if his brother was done oogling at the girl next door. Turning back to Misora, he decided to answer her question. "Father mentioned that its the control of the flow of our chi. I suppose by getting the lightening to move with our chi, we won't be harmed." He paused. "You're not thinking of trying it, are you?" He raised an eyebrow at her.

Misora grinned at the thought of Korin having a girlfriend. It would be something else he could tease her older brother mercilessly about. When Feru explained what he thought about the trick, it made sense to her. Learning how to control her chi to that level would be something she could practice. At her brother's question, she shook her head vigorously. "Nope, and I don't ever wanna have to try it. But I was thinking it would be a good thing to get the idea down and practice it just in case. If some bad person comes here and tries to hit me with lightning, I don't wanna die."

"What makes you think a bad person is coming in here? Why are you thinking that way, Misora? Do you think I would allow any one to harm our family?" Feru furrowed his eyebrows together. He would make sure that no one would harm his chances at becoming Fire Lord and that no unnecessary deaths would occur. "Don't think like that again." He reprimanded her. "There is no reason for you to die." He replied honestly. Korin, on the other hand.... He let his mind delight on that thought.

Misora shrugged and latched onto Feru's arm again, burying her face in his chest. "I've just...heard things the past few days," she said quietly, muffled against his shirt, "it's scared me. Something called the Black Pheonix is haunting the house...like a ghost or something. Sometime people see it at night." She shivered against him. "I'm scared, Feru," she said.

Feru tensed as Misora spoke about the Black Phoenix. It appears that some of his wanderings were being reported now. Good. Just a few more weeks and he will be able to launch his campaign...all under Father and Korin's noses. He hid his smile as Misora expressed her fear. "There's nothing to scared about, Misora." He assured her. "There are no such things as ghosts." He explained. "Its probably someone's idea of a joke. Don't pay any attention to it." He told her, as he pondered on the idea of disrupting the borders with his ploys. "Come along now, Mother is waiting to hear Kiya's reply to dinner." He tried to pry her off and get them going in the house.

Misora felt a little better at Feru's assurances, knowing her trusted brother would protect her from anything. (ooc: she's such a foolish child...makes me want to cry. lol) She still clung tenatiously to his arm, though he tried to get her off, as they walked into the palace. "But...but then what is it?" she asked, eyes still wide, "Are everybody lying about it, or is the dark playing tricks on them, or what?"

Korin touched the penguin, then smiled at its softness. "Kiya..."He glanced up at her after a moment, worry in his eyes and his voice. "What...what happened?"
OCC: Concerning the fact that she was kidnapped. lol

Feru gave out a sigh. He stopped and then bent down so he was eye to eye with his sister. "Misora, sometimes people want attention and they do it the wrong way. So all those things you're hearing is probably someone making it up to scare people. Don't listen to it okay?" He stood back up and continued to walk inside.

Misora listened to Feru, and though she was still frightened, his words comforted her. She clung to him as they continued down the hall. "Okay, Feru," she said sweetly, innocently, "I trust you." ~~~~~ Kiya hesitated for a second, a look of pain passing her eyes. "I don't remember many details," she said softly, putting Jack down. "They came in the middle of the night. I heard noises from Da--" She choked for a second, "from Daddy's room. I went in, and it was all crowded, and I remember seeing blood and my dad dead on his bed. Then something hit me in the head and next thing I knew, we were in a really cold cave." She stopped again for a second and swallowed. She had never voiced her suspicion to anybody, because they have always made sure to hide it from her. "Korin," she said, "I think they were earthbenders."

I trust you. Those three words echoed in Feru's mind and he did his best trying to give her a smile, but only a crooked fake one managed to appear on his face. "Good. Now run along and tell mother we are to expect Kiya. I have some other things to attend to before dinner." Feru told his sister, wondering how long Korin and Kiya would be sheepishly talking with one another.

Misora smiled at Feru, wanting to drag him along with her to their mom. But she knew better. He wanted to be alone for now, and she would let him be. "Okay, then I'm gonna come back here and we're gonna play!" She gave him a grin and ran off to find her mother. "Mamma! Maaaaaaaaammmmmmmmaaaaaaa!!!!!" the little girl cried out as she darted through the halls. "I'm right here, Miso," Mai said, stepping out of her and Zuko's bedroom, "You don't have to yell everywhere you go. Now, what is it?" "Feru said to tell you that Kiya's coming for dinner." Misora hugged Mai and gave her cute smile. "Thank you, Misora," she said, patting the girl on the head. Misora gave her a quick squeeze, then ran off the way she had come. Mai smiled after her. She was glad Kiya had accepted the invitation. This was the girl's first night home, and Mai knew she wouldn't want to spend it all alone in that large house. She shuddered, remembering the tales of how her father was found dead and Kiya missing. Yes, some company would be appreciated. Mai also smiled because she had seen something in the girl and her eldest son, Korin. It was like the past visiting her all over again, back when she had first seen Zuko. "Maybe things won't be as dramatic for them as it was for us," she said to herself.

Once Misora had run off, Feru sneaked off towards his room. The room was astoundingly plain for a Prince, but Feru didn't really have the taste or the attention for decoration. All he needed was a bed and a place to put his clothes that was it. It wasn't as extravagant as Misora and her wall of dolls, but it was suitable for a living quarter. Turning towards a small steel box, Feru opened it to reveal a Air Bison whistle. A smile crept on his face as he noted that since the Air Temples were reestablished, the Air Bison were too, and they on occasion, would fly nearby. Now, if he was lucky, he could call one over during the dinner. He stuffed the whistle in his pocket as he went to devise another prank.
Hurrying to the ammunition room, he pocketed some gun powder and walked away with a light bounce in his step and a large grin on his face.
