OOC: All these people contemplating whether or not to give her a present...sheesh.

Misora grinned at Korin as he leaned down. She took a lock of his hair and used her chi to heat her finger. The hair came free quickly, and not much of a burnt smell stayed behind.
"All done," she announced, stepping a little away from Korin. SHe grinned and grabbed Kiya's hand, charging to the palace.
"Easy, Misora," Kiya said as they trotted through the building. As they went, she felt more and more nervous. She was actually going to the palace, to eat with the Fire Lord's family! She'd never actually been inside the building before, except when she needed to go with her father if he had a meeting. She remembered spending a lot of time in the courtyards with Korin and his siblings. Of course back then Misora was only a toddler. A very cute, firebending toddler.
Kiya would have hesitated at the door of the banquet hall had not Misora rammed through the doors and gone inside. She felt herself blush with embarrassment when she was inside. Misora let her go and sat down next to Feru, then seemingly fell against her brother, wrapping both her arms around one of his, grinning as she did so.
Kiya hesitated for an instant, then bowed to the family.
"Fire Lord Zuko, Lady Mai, thank you for honoring me with your invitation," she said a little shyly.
"It was the least we could do, Kiya," Mai said. "I am sorry for your loss." Kiya nodded but kept her face down for a moment. Then she looked around at the table, a little confused. Where was she supposed to sit.
"Sit there," Misora ordered, pointing to the spot across from her. "Korin always sits next to Daddy." Kiya blushed again, but sat where the princess had ordered her to.

After the excitement of Kiya and Misora's arrival, Mai focused on the box Zuko had handed to her. She opened it to reveal his pearl dagger. She remembered he had always carried it around. Her eyed widened for a half a second, then she turned to look at him.
"Zuko," she said quietly with a tone of amazment, "are you sure you want to give me this?"

After Misora took a bit of his hair, Korin hurriedly jogged to his bedroom. Upon entering it, he quickly threw off his vest and went into his bathroom where he splashed his face with cold water and tied his hair back with a strip of leather. He put on a shelled necklace and then went back into his room. Paintings covered the wall, most of them done by Misora and himself, and his bed was neatly made, as it always was. In contrast with Feru's room, his was decorative and had his personality in it. The same tapestry of the Royal Family that Misora burnt in her own hung in his room, though of much smaller size, over the head of his bed. He glanced at it for a moment, smiling, then went to his closet and threw it open. He grabbed his nicest shirt, threw it over his head, then fastened a collar shirt onto his shoulders. The collar shirt was uncomfortable and came up to his chin, but he wanted to look his best for Mother...and Kiya. He quickly grabbed his present for Mother, a couple scrolls that he had painted during their stay at Ember Island, grabbed his cloak, then hurried out of the room. By the time he got to the banquet hall, the servants had already served the food. He glanced at Kiya, then spoke to his mother and father. "I'm sorry, Mother, Father, for my...uh...late presence. I was getting Mother's present." He smiled at Mother, then rushed over to her side, handing her his scrolls.

Zuko smiled again at Mai, then nodded gently. "I would give anything to you." It was then that Korin walked in and Zuko moved his present aside so Korin could give Mai his.

Feru managed a weak smile as Father greeted him. He watched with interest as Father presented Mother with her gift. He poked his head over to look at it and didn't know what the fuss was about. An iron griplock around his arm distracted him next as Misora appeared. "Hello Misora." Feru tried to pry himself away from her but to no avail. The little girl sure had a grip!

Feru watched as Kiya presented herself, surprised that Feru wasn't following or oogling after her. Where'd he go? Feru wondered. After the food was served, Korin finally appeared, newly dressed and clean. Feru mentally smirked. That brother of his always was late...apparently he always wanted the attention. Feru withheld a sneer. Soon... He thought to himself and recalled the fireworks.

Mai smiled at Korin as he came in, noticing the attention he had put into cleaning himself up. He probably would have told them he had dressed up for her birthday, but Mai guessed it had more of something to do with the girl sitting next to him. She took the scrolls from him with a smile. She opened them to reveal several paintings.
"These are lovely, Korin," she told him. "Thank you." She looked at Misora, who was the only one who hadn't given her a present yet. Misora caught the look and smiled a little sheepishly.
"Your present's not ready yet, Mamma," she said, "But I'll finish it after dinner." Mai smiled, but wondered what her daughter needed so much time to make.
Kiya nearly lost her breath at the sight of Korin. He looked even better than he had before, if that was at all possible. She attempted not to stare when he sat next to her, but couldn't help glancing at him every few seconds.
